Small & Micro Sized Groups
Our escorted adventures are limited to Small (7-10 px) or Micro (4-6 px) sized groups. We find small groups allow us to:

We use Didis (China's Uber), ferries and metro in big cities.
Local drivers /mini-buses in the countryside and fast trains for longer journeys.
No time wasted loading and unloading big bus coaches!
We enjoy more diverse and "intimate" dining experiences.
And of course...smoother group dynamics!

We find one of the main things that makes traveling in China stand out from other countries, is its historical and cultural depth.
We choose regional destinations and itineraries that facilitate exploring this depth.
Thoughtful Itineraries
We craft our adventure itineraries to get off the beaten path, rub shoulders with the locals and experience the cultural depth of China. We also pay special attention to your comfort and health by...
Making sure days are active, by incorporating walking / hiking activities most days.
We balance this by having relaxing meals and ensuring restful nights in clean, comfortable four star plus accommodations.
Our adventures are focused on regions rather than venturing China-wide. This means less time sitting on buses, trains and planes.
We try to stay two nights or more at each destination. This means less time packing and unpacking bags and more time for adventuring!
We also build in at least one "relaxation day" every 3-5 days. These are usually travelling days, with less walking activities , longer relaxed meals and some "free time" to explore the local area.
Pre-travel Support Offered
From the time you commit to joining one of our adventures our support is available. We aim to prepare you for your trip and to minimise any surprises on your arrival. We do this by:
Outlining the nature of China's "Digital Environment" and suggesting Apps that are useful in China.
Suggesting the best options for telecommunications / WiFi while in China.
For pre-travel communications we form a Group Chat on the Chinese social media App, WeChat. This enables you to connect with us and other group members before and during our adventures.
WeChat is also useful in China for making purchases, connecting with locals and as a "location" tool if you wander from the group! International Video and Voice calling on WeChat is free so you can use it to stay in touch with home.
